Easter is not just a day, but a season. A season o Easter is not just a day, but a season. A season of hope, celebration and prayer.

We can participate in this spirit together by decorating our Jessie’s Tree with Easter eggs. On each egg, use the Sharpie to write a name, word, or short prayer intention. If your prayer intention is longer or private, please use the paper strip and pen to write it down and place it in an egg. When you’re all done with your egg, tie it to Jessie’s Tree. We will add the “Jessie Tree Intentions” to our weekly prayer list and others will be able to add it to their prayers as well.

This way, whether you're able to attend church in-person or not, we can participate together in an act of prayer, just by stopping by outside.
Part of the work for us in this season of Lent is Part of the work for us in this season of Lent is to assess how well we are doing in following the example of Jesus, who embodies the sign that God is present and that God is our advocate and not our adversary, and being that sign. The opening of our collective hearts is in the confession that we may have been more of an adversary to the work of God in the world than an advocate. Whether we think individually, as we do and need to from time to time, or corporately, as we don’t very often, we need to examine the condition of our hearts. Are our hearts open to the sign, walk, life, words, imprint, and the one whose love covers all? #lent #umc

The season of Epiphany has always been about seein The season of Epiphany has always been about seeing the light that is Jesus the Christ breaking forth into the world in which we live. But, seeing is only the first step. The presence of Christ calls forth a response. This series called "Where You Lead..." is about the church and each of us that make up the body of Christ, our response to that light, to walk the path of Jesus each and every day, to follow. It is the mission of the church to make disciples, even as we are being made disciples. It is an ongoing process to follow Jesus; a transformation that continues through every stage of our lives. We come again and again, "where you lead, O Lord..."
Caroling: On Sunday, December 20 @ 12:30 p.m. We w Caroling: On Sunday, December 20 @ 12:30 p.m. We will be singing songs and sharing the Christmas story with some of those in our congregation who have been homebound. We will begin at the church parking lot with a brief 'game plan' review and prayer. Song sheets will be provided. We will then be walking or driving short distances to the homes of members who live around the church. Car-pooling is not encouraged as everyone should remain physically distant (6 feet apart) from others who are not in your household. Everyone will need to wear a face mask.

Longest Night Worship Service: Monday, December 21, online @ 7:00 p.m., led by Pastor Ben and Pastor Nadine. During the season of Advent, we use the Advent wreath and the lighting of candles to help us mark our weeks of expectant waiting. We await the celebration of Christ's coming into this world on Christmas and we await the time when Christ will come again, making God's promised realm of peace a reality. Throughout Advent, when we light these candles we proclaim the coming of the light of God into the world with messages of hope, peace, joy, and love. On the Longest Night, we take a moment to recognize that this time of expectant waiting is complex and conflicted, that the cry, "O come, O come, Emmanuel" is sometimes filled with anguish and grief for those who are desperately in need of God's presence. So we come to worship to express and acknowledge these conflicting emotions, as we remember that it was into such a world as this that God's love took on flesh in Jesus, our Redeemer.

Christmas Eve Worship Services: Thursday, December 24 at 2:00 p.m. we will offer an online service, and at 7:00 p.m. a drive-in service. The drive-in service is a (flameless) candlelight service with communion in the style of drive-in movie theaters. You can drive to the church and park in the south lots along Orangelawn Street that face the church building. The worship service will be live, with Pastor Ben preaching outside, musicians from the parlor, a Christmas tree and lights set up, with all audio transmitted over your car's radio! The candles and communion will be distributed by ushers to you and your family in your car.
